Brief

KLIM is a new coffee roastery based in Melbourne, created to celebrate the city’s deep love of coffee and its famously unpredictable weather. We were tasked with developing a brand that would stand out in a saturated market, using a playful, localised concept to connect with a broad and weather-hardened audience — from everyday drinkers to discerning coffee lovers.

Solution

The KLIM brand is built around the central idea of weather-inspired storytelling — a nod to Melbourne’s ever-changing skies and its equally dynamic coffee culture. The visual identity is deliberately minimal, allowing bold messaging and playful blend names like Sunny 32 or Stormy 14 to take centre stage. A system of stickers applied to pared-back packaging acts as both a practical label and a reveal moment, exposing the tagline “Always Good Coffee, Rain, Hail or Shine.” Typography is clean and contemporary, reflecting the brand’s confident tone, while the restrained palette ensures the colour-coded weather cues remain visually distinct. The result is a flexible, character-driven identity that’s equal parts functional and expressive — much like the city it was born in.
